Rachel Kagan, DVM
Dr. Rachel Kagan has practiced medicine at Carlsbad Animal Hospital since 2003. A native of Sherman Oaks, Dr. Kagan attended the University of California, Berkeley and the California Polytechnic Institute, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1992. She continued her education at the UC Davis College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She later completed a one-year internship in medicine and surgery at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital in 1998. Her professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and dermatology. Dr. Kagan is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association
Outside the hospital, Dr. Kagan enjoys cooking, reading, shopping and spending time with her family. Dr. Kagan's husband, John Hart, is a veterinary internal medicine specialist. They have two children, Cassidy and Nate, and share their home with dogs Annie and Tasha and cats Booker and Momma Kitty.
